For Families & Friends

You’re Not Alone—And Neither Is Your Loved One

Supporting someone through a mental health or substance use crisis can feel overwhelming. At Seaside Health System, we’re here to help guide both patients and their families toward stability and recovery.

Whether you’ve just helped a loved one get admitted or are searching for the right place to start, we want you to know: you are part of the healing process—and we’re here for you, too.

How You Can Support Your Loved One

Understand the Process

Our inpatient program is structured to provide stabilization, psychiatric care, and a secure environment. Treatment often includes group therapy, medication management, and discharge planning.

Stay Connected

While direct visitation may be limited for safety or clinical reasons, we encourage appropriate communication when approved by the care team. We’ll guide you on how and when you can connect.

Participate When Possible

With the patient’s consent, you may be invited to participate in discharge planning or family-focused education. Our goal is to support long-term recovery—not just for the patient, but for the whole family system.

What to Expect During Inpatient Care

  • 24/7 clinical supervision

  • Individualized treatment plans

  • Support from a multidisciplinary care team

  • Focus on mental and emotional stabilization

Your Questions Are Important

We know this process can bring uncertainty. Our team is always available to answer your questions, explain what’s happening, and help you feel informed every step of the way.
