Admissions Nurse (LPN) Saturdays & Sundays 7AM to 7PM

Seaside Health System is seeking PART-TIME - DAY SHIFT Admissions Nurse (LPN) in our Baton Rouge Inpatient Hospital. Self-motivated candidates who values excellence, integrity and treating patients and colleagues with dignity and respect.


Day Shift 7:00am to 7:00pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete and coordinate patient admission assessments, including medical history, medications, and presenting concerns

  • Verify and document insurance, demographic, and consent information accurately

  • Conduct initial nursing assessments and screenings (vital signs, risk assessments, sub-stance use, mental status as applicable)

  • Review and reconcile current medications and communicate findings to the provider

  • Ensure all required admission paperwork and documentation is completed in a timely manner

  • Collaborate with physicians, RNs, therapists, and intake staff to determine appropriate level of care and placement

  • Initiate and implement physician admission orders

  • Provide patient and family education regarding admission process, unit expectations, and patient rights

  • Coordinate safe and efficient patient handoff to unit staff

  • Maintain compliance with CMS, state (LDH), and TJC regulations

  • Monitor for any immediate medical or behavioral concerns upon admission and escalate as needed

  • Assist with discharge planning coordination when applicable

  • Ensure confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA standards

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to admissions processes

  • Maintain accurate and timely medical record documentation

  • Support a welcoming, professional, and compassionate first point of contact experience for patients

  • Perform other duties as assigned
